Canadian judoka Kyle Reyes won the World Junior Championships U21 in 2013 in Ljubljana. Reyes took silver at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2013 and Grand in Tyumen. In 2016 he was in the final of the Grand Slam in Paris against Cyrille Maret and he took silver at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2018. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Montreal. He is multiple Canadian champion. He has Japanese roots.

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Judo Canada named the eight athletes nominated to represent Team Canada in judo at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games judo tournament from August 6 to 12. The eight athletes named to the team are Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard (U57kg), Antoine Bouchard (U60kg), Ecaterina Guica (U52kg), Arthur Margelidon (U73kg), Sergio Pessoa Jr (U60kg), Kyle Reyes (U100kg), Antoine Valois-Fortier (U81kg) and Kelita Zupancic (U70kg). Panam perfect practise in Havana for Olympic Games

At the second day of the Pan American Championships in Havana Brazil added another two titles, but the home crowd was more happy with the two victories of the Cuban athletes. Cuba won eleven medals in total and Jose Armenteros won the gold U100kg and Idalys Ortiz was the best +78kg. Read more
