Andrew Thomas Mlugu of Tanzania claimed a silver medal at the African Open in Dakar in 2023. He was given a wild card for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games fighting -73kg. In 2016 he was the flag bearer for Tanzania in the Parade of Nations.
