Song Sim Rim of North Korea won gold at the Grand Prix in Hohhot in 2017. She won bronze at the Asian Championships in 2015. She took bronze at the Asian Junior Championships in 2013 as promising judoka. Asian Games bronze medallist Rim is one of the most established members of the team. The uchi-mata connoisseur made her World Championships debut in 2013 but had to wait until 2017 to make her mark on the IJF World Judo Tour. She took a bronze medal at the Asian Pacific Championships in 2019.
