British judoka Ben Urban had a small competitive career and struggled with major injuries. His coach and former Great Britain men’s coach, Chris Bowles, mentored him through the transition from athlete to coach. In 2017 he got a full time position with Tonbridge Judo Club, working with performance. The club works with athletes towards inclusion on the British Olympic and Paralympic pathways. He works with the Uruguay Olympic Judo team, specifically with Alain & Pablo Aprahamian.
