Ming Yen Tsai of Taipei took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam of Paris in 2014 U60kg. He won silver at the Grand Prix in Jeju in 2013. Tsai won the Asian Open in Taipei in 2013 and he took bronze at the Asian Championship in 2013 and bronze in 2012. In 2011 he was world vice cadet champion in Kiev. He clinched a bronze medal at the gold Grand Prix in Hohhot in 2019

Düsseldorf Grand Slam silver medallist Kim Lim-Hwan of Korea beat Aram Grigoryan (RUS) in golden score to send his country top of the medal table. Osaka Grand Slam bronze medallist Grigoryan was penalised for passivity in added time which was his third offence and the Russian had to settle for silver as world number 41 Kim claimed his second IJF win and first since 2016. If Ganbat Boldbaatar can win the Grand Slam of Paris, anything is possible with this small wonderman. World Judo Masters runner-up Ganbat Boldbaatar of Mongolia dominated European champion Amiran Papinashvili in a surprisingly one-sided final. Ganbat first broke the resistance of Papinashvili after 90 seconds with a yuko from a ko-soto-gari. The Georgian responded with a uchi-mata effort on the edge of the tatami but Ganbat was ready and rolled his foe over for a waza-ari. Read more
