Czech judoka Jakub Jecminek won the European Cup in Bratislava in 2016. In 2017 he took a silver medal at the African Open in Casablanca. He is a four-time World Championships participant. Jecminek, who has campaigned at the Worlds in 2014, 2015 and 2017 won his opening contests in the last two editions and will believe that with a favourable draw he could go further in the competition than ever before. The U73kg judoka won two contests at the Budapest Grand Prix in August.
