Amandine Buchard acts at World level since her 16th when she won bronze at the Cadet Worlds. She won World Junior bronze in 2013 and the World Junior title in 2014, just after she took World bronze at senior level in Chelyabinsk and in 2018 in Baku. She won gold at the GP Tbilisi in 2017 and 2018 and more than 10 medals in the IJF World Tour. She won the Europa League with Red Star Champigny in 2018. IJF World Ranking Leader U52kg in 2018. Silver at the 2018 IJF World Masters in Guangzhou.

Prize money for judo IJF Ranking leaders

The IJF have announced that it will award a prize money bonus for 2018 year-end leaders of the World Ranking List. The IJF will award a bonus prize money pot of $220,000 with the male and female judoka with the most ranking points for the calendar year each scooping $50,000 apiece. Read more

Tsunoda Natsumi of Japan defeated world bronze medallist Amandine Buchard (FRA) to win the -52kg title in China. Osaka Grand Slam silver medallist Tsunoda, who in the domestic pecking order is behind world champion Abe Uta and world silver medallist Shishime Ai (JPN), turned Buchard over and onto her back with a sumi-gaeshi. World champion Abe Uta claims Grand Slam treble

Teenage world champion Abe Uta of Japan won her third Grand Slam title to remain undefeated since 2016. The 18-year-old squared off with teammate and Asian Games winner Tsunoda Natsumi (JPN) in the -52kg final and avenged her only defeat on IJF World Judo Tour which came in the 2016 Tokyo Grand Slam final.
