German judoka Sappho Coban won the World Junior title in 2013 in Ljubljana. In 2012 she had already won the European Junior title and in 2014 she continued the highlights with the European U23 title. In 2015 the German Police woman won the European Cup in Sindelfingen. She won bronze at the European Open in Warsaw in 2016 and Glasgow in 2018 and silver at the European Open in Sofia in 2017. She took bronze at the World Junior Team Championships in Ljubljana in 2013 with Germany. She won the gold medal at the European Open in Sarajevo in 2021. Sappho retired in February 2022.
