Swiss judoka Mathieu Groell won the Swiss title in 2016 in Neuchatel and was Swiss Junior and cadet champion. He won the European Cup as a junior in Tartu in 2012 and won bronze at senior level in Dubrovnik in 2016. In 2013 he was fifth at the European Junior Championships in 2013.
