Paul Oost
Judoka Paul Oost of Australia won gold at the Australian Championships in 1959 in the category middle. Oost was born in Perth in 1942 and is in his 80's of age presently and still very fit and health, still living in Perth.Paul also won the Australian Heavy Weight Championship in 1960 and the Australian Open Weight Championship in 1961. He then spent 5 years at the Kodokan in Japan, ultimately attaining 6th Dan Black Belt, before returning to Australia to win his 2nd Australian Open Championship in 1967. He then retired and focused on his career working with the Japanese Consular General.
