Ilgar Mushkiyev of Azerbaijan won World bronze in 2011 in Paris. He fought the World Junior Championships final in 2009. He won four World Cups since 201 including Grand Prix in Baku and in 2015 the Grand Prix of Qingdao, more than 10 World Cup medals. He won European bronze in 2014.

Japans lightweights were sensation during the Grand Slam of Tyumen on Saturday. Asian Championships bronze medallist Oshima Yuma of Japan kept the tradition high as the last two editions of the Grand Slam in Siberia were won by Kido Shinji. Orkhan Safarov is the favourite for the European title on Thursday in Kazan. The weight division for men U60kg has a strong field but without Beslan Mudranov the reigning champion. Sarafov has a rather easy draw and French Vincent Limare could be his opponent in the semi final. He will face Ahmet Sahin Kaba of Turkey as first opponent, not an easy start. This time it was Shishime Toru of Japan who became the sixth winner in a row from Asia U60kg. Shishime simply took over the gold from Takato Naohisa.
