Adysangela Moniz of Cape Verde finished 9th at the 2012 OIympic Games in London +78kg. She competed at World and African Championships. The London 2012 Olympian won bronze at the 2009 Lusophony Games, a multinational multi-sport event which involves athletes coming from Portuguese-speaking countries. She will crave a return to the elite stage in Baku in 2018. She captured a bronze medal at the African Open in Yaounde in 2019.
