Turkish Judo champion Merivan Tankos is originally Dutch youth champion with Turkish background. She claimed a bronze medal in 2014 at the Dutch senior championships. She switched to Türkiye in 2015 and won a medal at Turkish Junior Championships followed with the Turkish senior title in 2016. She won silver at the European Cup in Sarajevo in 2016.
