Former Russian judoka Askerbiy Gerbekov took the gold medal at the 3rd USIP World Police Games in Milan in 2019. Gerbekov switched to Bahrain in 2019. He bagged a silver medal at the European Open in Madrid in 2022. In 2023 he won the Arab Championships in Doha. He took bronze at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2023. Gerbekov finished with bronze at the Grand Slam Baku in 2024. He captured the gold medal at the Asian Open in Hong Kong in 2023. He is originally from Russia.
