Italian judoka Romano Polverari won European bronze in 1959 in Vienna. He was quadruple Italian judo champion. As heavyweight he won various European medals with the Italian team. He was Born in Mondavio (PU) in 1929. He won Italian Championship (1958 Torino; 1960 Milano; 1961 Perugia; 1962 Udine). bronze European Championship 1959 Vienna. His team was the "G.S. Fiamme oro- Nettuno". He reached the 7 Dan. After his carreer as an athlete he became international referee. He passed away in 1994.
