Nora Gjakova fights for Kosova U57kg won the European senior title in 2018 in Tel Aviv. She took silver at the European Games in Minsk in 2019. She won the Grand Prix Antalya and GP in Tunis in 2018. She won European Games bronze in 2015 and European bronze in 2017. Gjakova took gold at the Grand Prix The Hague in 2017 and Grand Prix Tbilisi in 2019. European Cadet and U23 Champion. Gjakova won 21 World Cup medals. Silver at the 2018 IJF World Masters in Guangzhou. Silver at GP Budapest 2019.

Nora Gjakova is one of those strong women U57kg. One of those strong women from Kosovo under the guidance of Driton Kuka. She captured the European title in 2018 but both finallists of the 2019 European Championships took a seventh place at the World Championships in Tokyo. There’s lots pof work to do in this category where the field is very close. An Olympic medal is a realistic goal but Gjakova has to be patient. The Kosovo Olympic Judo Team is Quarantined, Isolated in a Training Room. The Kosovo judo team has been self-isolating as it prepares for the Tokyo Olympics. Olympic champion Majlinda Kelmendi, four other judokas and five staff members have closed themselves in at a training center in Peja, 85 kilometers (50 miles) west of Pristina. Read more

Christa Deguchi wants to stunt in Japan

Is it going to be a historic day for Canada. Christa Deguchi is eager to win the first ever world title for Canada on day three of the World Championships on Japanese soil. Obviously Japanese World champion Yoshida Tsukasa is the favourite as current title holder, but she lost to Deguchi in the final of the Grand Slam in Paris, so it’s all possible as the morning session was completed. Rafaela Silva is back to Olympic level

Brazilian Olympic champion Rafaela Silva earned her sixth Grand Prix title with a resounding win over European Games silver medallist Nora Gjakova (KOS) in the U57kg final. Silva took her opportunity with 53 seconds left as she countered a weak uchi-mata on the edge of the contest area by rolling over Kosovo’s star for ippon and gold for Brazil. Read more
