Australian Miranda Giambelli fought for Italy until 2013 when she switched to Australia. She became Oceania champion U78kg in 2015 and 2016 and qualified for Rio. Giambelli took silver at the Oceania Open in Wollongong in 2014 and 2015. She took silver at the 2012 Sambo World Championships in Minsk. She took bronze at the European Cup in Uster in 2015.
