Agata Perenc of Poland captured silver at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2017 and bronze in 2018. She won more than 10 World Cup medals, U57kg and later she stepped back in U52kg and won bronze medals in Oberwart, Samsung, Zagreb and Cluj all in 2015. In 2016 she took bronze at the African Open in Tunis. Perenc was Polish champion U17, U23 and won the senior title in 2010 and 2012. She won bronze at the European Open in Minsk in 2017. She claimed a silver medal at the 2018 Grand Prix in Cancun.

Ana Perez Box of Spain was the shock winner of the U52kg gold medal as she defeated four-time Grand Prix medallist Agata Perenc (POL) in the final. Hohhot Grand Prix bronze medallist Perez Box won her first IJF final appearance at expense of Tashkent Grand Prix silver medallist Perenc by a waza-ari score to send her country to the top of the medal podium for the time being. Evelyne Tschopp first Swiss woman to win gold at IJF Tour

Evelyne Tschopp finally won a big gold medal in the IJF World Tour. The Swiss was able to surprise Gili Cohen in the final U52kg with a fast score and she rapidly converted her move into oseikomi. The 24-year old Tschopp who lost her previous two finals at the Grand Slam of Paris (2015) and Oceania Open, was also surprised with such quick victory against last week’s winner in Baku. Read more
