Puerto Rican judoka Melissa Mojica won the Panam Championships in 2008 and 12 continental medals. Mojica won World Cup medals in San Salvador, Buenos Aires and Montevideo and collected 14 World Cup medals. She won PanAm Open silver in Buenos Aires in 2016. She won silver at the Grand Prix in Samsun. She clinched a bronze medal at the Pan American Championship in 2019 in Lima. She took gold at the Pan American Open in Quito in 2019. She took a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Montreal. She bagged a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships in Guadalajara in 2021.
