Slovenian judoka Matjaz Trbovc competed at several World and European championships. He won the Sarajevo open in 2008 and many European Cup medals. In 2015 he won his first World Cup in Taipei. He won 6 national titles U60kg and was also multiple Cadet and Junior champion. Bronze in Tunis in 2016. He took silver at the Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2016. He won silver at the European Cup in Celje in 2017. He won silver at the Grand Prix in Tunis in 2018. He won the European Cup in Sarajevo in 2019.

The surprising winner of the European Cup in Sarajevo was the team of Montenegro. With three gold medals the re-installed member of the Judo Family was the most impressive nation in Bosnia Herzegovina. On Saturday Jovana Pekovic was on fire taking a gold medal U78kg.
