Munkhbaatar won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2010 U52kg. She won the Universiade in Bangkok (Student World Championships) in 2007. Munkhbaatar claimed the Grand Slam in Paris in 2011 U52kg. In 2016 she won bronze at the Polish Open in Warsaw. She won bronze at the Grand Slam in Baku.

In the final she took revenge of her loss in the final of the Grand Prix of Tbilisi against the same opponent, Odette Giuffrida. Rome European Open winner MA Yingnan (CHN) defeated a below-par world number four and top seed Mareen KRAEH (GER) in the -52kg final. MA broke the deadlock by scoring a yuko before adding a second by trapping KRAEH to the tatami with osaekomi for 12 seconds. The German judoka appeared to fall back awkwardly on her left foot from a ashi-waza attack and MA seized her opportunity be applying shime-waza and forcing her German rival to submit. Read more
