2002 and 2010 European Champion Elco van der Geest switched from Netherlands to Belgium in advance of the 2009 World Championships. He is the younger brother of Dennis van der Geest. Together they won the European title in 2002. Elco runs Kenamju supported by father Cor van der Geest. His judo examples are Toshihiko Koga and Wladimir Dgebouadze. Major World Cup wins: Rotterdam 2001, Rome 2002, Moscow 2002, Tunis GP 2009, Rio Grand Slam 2009 and 2010 and Paris Grand Slam 2010.
