Argentine judoka Paula Pareto is Olympic Champion in 2016 in Rio and seventh at Tokyo 2020. Pareto was Olympic bronze medallist in 2008 in Beijing and won the world title in 2015 in Astana, silver at the 2014 World Championships and bronze in 2018 in Baku. She won more than 15 major events. Pareto won the gold medal at the Grand Prix in Cancun in 2018 and Grand Slam of Ekaterinburg in 2019. Pareto was number 1 of the IJF World Ranking in 2015 and 2016. Paula carried the Olympic Flag during the 2020 Olympic Opening Ceremony as a doctor fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic. She retired in 2021.
