Judoka Andrey Shturbabin won the Grand Prix Città di Roma U71kg in 1996. He finished seventh at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and competed at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. He took a bronze medal at the Tournoi de Paris in 2001. he won bronze at Asian Games and Asian Championships. In 2018 he became coach of Iran.
