Judoka Jane Peach “Peaches” was born in Portsmouth in Great Britain. Her first medal was a Bronze in the 1st Women’s Team Championship in 1966 and she gained her 1st Dan (Black Belt) in 1967 at the age of 17 years. She won gold at the British Open London in 1971 U70kg. Jane was well respected among her peers serving as Secretary of the British Judo Association London Area Committee from 1968 – 1971 and as Treasurer and Committee member of the National Women’s Sub Committee 1971 – 1976.
