Azeri judoka Vusal Galandarzade became the junior world champion in 2023 in Odivelas. He secured the silver medal at the Junior European Cup in Nanterre. He secured a silver medal at the Junior European Cup in Graz in 2022. He claimed the European Junior title in 2022. With the Junior team of Azerbaijan he secured a bronze medal at the European Mixed team Championships. He triumphed at the Junior European Cup in Berlin in 2023.
