Scottish Dr. Lisa Allan is an important female figure in judo as the Competition Manager of the International Judo Federation (IJF). She was introduced to the sport by her father, who was coaching the British team. She coached and volunteered. She became competition manager of the London Olympic Games. From there she became secretary of the Sport Commission for about nine months before being appointed as the Competition Manager at the IJF and in 2017 she joined the Executive Committee.
