Dutch judo coach Mark van der Ham was double Dutch champion U73kg as an athlete. As a coach he developed well and became coach of many Rotterdam area female judoka. He won Olympic bronze with Anicka van Emden in 2016. European titles with Roy Meyer. Took titles with Marhinde Verkerk, Juul Franssen, Guusje Steenhuis and Kim Polling and coached many youth talents. Raised in Hoogvliet at Sport Intituut De Korte. Since 2017 Junior coach for the Flemish Judo Federation.

Not just Dutch athletes seemed to leave, but also coaches. Since the centralisation policy of the Dutch Judo Association is on conflict with various judoka. Also coaches make decissions to find a job elsewhere. Dutch coach Mark van der Ham didn't prolong his contract with the Dutch Association. Read more
