2018 World Championships debutant Edmilson Pedro is a new name in an IJF setting. The young Angolan has only fought once outside his homeland when he stepped up to compete at the African Championships this year. PEDRO defeated Gavin MOGOPA (BOT) by ippon before losing his quarter-final and repechage contests to finish seventh. He captured the gold medal at the African Open in Yaounde and Dakar in 2022. He secured s silver medal at the African Open in Tunis in 2023. He triumphed at the African Open in Luanda in 2023 and 2024. Earned a bronze medal at the 2024 African Championships in Cairo.
