Judoka Anastasiia Balaban was born in Ukrainian but fights for Bulgaria since 2018. She took silver at the European Cadet Championships in 2017 in Kaunas and clinched silver at the Cadet Europeans in Warsaw. She won the Cadet European Cup in Antalya and Ploiesti in 2017 and gold in Berlin in 2018. She took a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships in Santiago de Chile in 2017. She took silver at the EYOF in Baku in 2019. Balaban claimed the gold at the Junior European Cup in Sarajevo and Prague in 2021. She clinched a bronze medal at the Junior European Cup in Malaga in 2022.
