Belgrade took the opportunity to honour its champions of this year. Aleksandar Kukolj and Nemanja Majdov were not the only ones who were awarded for their performances. Serbian judo is booming with amazing results. The men U90kg are amazingly dominant, and the women are getting better and better results. French judoka impress at first event with new rules

France have won six out of the eight gold medals at the first Continental open of the season. The African Open in Tunis was the first ocassion where the new rules were applicable. The French men won all categories and only Tunisia's Olfa Saoudi and Cristina Cabana Perez of Spain won their categories. Read more

Walide Khyar warms up with gold at European Cup Malaga

Current European Champion Walide Khyar was a logical winner of the European Cup in Malaga in the category U66kg, although one category higher than his usual weight. In Malaga he defeated Puerto Rican Augusto Miranda. Khyar (21) never competed at a senior European Cup, but today was an exception on his way back, his first event after the Olympic Games. Read more
