Judo in Slovenia

Judo Slovenia won an Olympic gold medal in judo by Tina Trstenjak. She is the successor of Urska Zolnir the Olympic Champion of London2012. Judo in Slovenia is mainly successful in the women with Olympic judo medals for Urska Zolnir, Lucija Polavder and bronze for Ana Velensek in Rio2016. Tina Trstenjak was the first Judo World Champion for Slovenia in 2015. Anamari Velensek won silver in 2015 and bronze in 2014. Rok Draksic was European Champion in 2013. Marjan Fabjan is the most successful judo coach in Slovenia with his club Sankaku. Judo Zvez Slovenije is proud federation within the NOC. Slovenia organised the World Junior Championships in 2013.
