Daniel Lascau voted President of the Romanian Judo Federation

Daniel Lascau has been voted President of the Romanian Judo Federation. The 1991 world champion Daniel Florin Lascău is also Sports Director of the IJF. Lascau is well known in the international world of judo, first of all because of his athlete performances and secondly as administrator and sports director. First as General Secretary of the German Judo Federation, followed as sports director and vice president of the EJU. In 2012 he left EJU for the IJF as Sports Director.

Lascaus was furthermore involved as technical director for Sweden, Great Britain and Turkey and advised many talents with his educational skills.

In his speech, Lascau promised to try to find funding sources to pay debts to the state and open negotiations with third parties for rescheduling of debts. Living in Oradea, the new president presented his shooting plan, to target the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Lascău received 94 votes from the total of 136 votes allowed. His rival, Bucharest Nicolae Traşcă. He took a total of 42 votes.

Romania still has a great potential at World level. Not just with the experienced level of Andreea Chitu, Corina Caprioriu and Monica Ungureanu, but also from the new generation with Loredana Ohai, Larisa Florian and in the men’s division Daniel Matea is showing great potential chances for future world level medals.
