Daniel Gürschner headcoach in Norway

Daniel Gürschner has been officially named Head Coach of Norway, after a long and brilliant coaching career in Germany. With his 19 years of experience in high performance, the 1998 European Champion and 2000 vice European Champion U100kg, chose the Norwegian Capital of Oslo to write a new chapter.

“Major pain” has his athletes call him, coached years after years successful and talented judokas such as the 2008 Olympic champion Ole Bischof (-81kg), the two times vice world champion Andreas Tölzer (+100kg) , Karl Richard Frey (-100kg) two times world medallist in 2014 and 2015, his younger brother Johannes Frey vice European champion in 2016 (+100 kg) and many more…

The native from Cottbus and former winner of the Tournoi de Paris, is convinced about the potential of the Norwegian judokas and has already his eyes set on the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028. Always ready for new challenges, Daniel Gürschner is determined more than ever with his team to make the Norwegian flag shine at European and Global level.

Guerschner: "After 19 Years as a coach in Germany, Norway is for me a beautiful challenge. I will work with a new team of coaches and I know that together we will accomplish great things and create something strong. I have already spotted several judokas with interesting profiles. I can’t wait to start this adventure."

Daniel Gürschner will soon be at the  international stage starting with the European Open in Warsaw, which will be held on 24 and 25 of February.
