China cheers for first gold at Asian Games by Zhenzhao Ma

On the last day of the Asian Games Judo Tournament held in Hangzhou, The Men's U90kg category delivered a thrilling showdown with winner Erlan Sherov from Kyrgyzstan who secured the gold medal. In the final he bested Davlat Bobonov from Uzbekistan, who took silver. The bronze in this category went to Aram Grigorian from the United Arab Emirates and Caramnob Sagaipov from Lebanon.

In the Men's U100kg category, Muzaffarbek Turoboyev from Uzbekistan emerged as the gold medalist and gave his country its third gold medal. He won the final against Gonchigsuren Batkhuyag from Mongolia. It was Mongolia’s second gold medal this tournament. The bronze medals were awarded to Dzhafar Kostoev from the United Arab Emirates and Nurlykhan Sharkhan from Kazakhstan. UAE actually performed really well with gold silver and three bronzes.

The heavyweight Men's +100kg category featured power on full display by Magomedomar Magomedomarov from the United Arab Emirates who emerged as the champion and gave his country the first gold in judo. Temur Rakhimov from Tajikistan was defeated by an impressive performance in the final.  The bronze medals in this weight class were claimed by tall man Alisher Yusupov from Uzbekistan and Min-Jong Kim from South Korea. Uzbekistan won in total 8 medals this tournament.

In the Women's U78kg category, Zhenzhao Ma from China won the title, the first gold medal for China in this important class with history in China. In the final Ma defeated Rika Takayama from Japan which was quite a performance. The bronze medals were captured by Hyun-Ji Yoon from South Korea and Iriskhon Kurbanbaeva from Uzbekistan.

South Korea won the gold medal in the Women's +78kg category: Hayun Kim took the gold medal after her victory against Shiyan Xu to prevent China from winning another medal at the last day.

The bronze medals in this weight class were claimed by Wakaba Tomita from Japan and Adiyasuren Amarsaikhan from Mongolia. Korea took 9 medals but only gold in this class.

Japan won the medal tally with four gold medals and nine medals in total.
