Andreas Toelzer celebrates his birthday as a coach now

Three Olympic medallists celebrate their birthday on the 27th of January. Quite a few heroes from the past in Germany. Andreas Toelzer is Olympic bronze medallist in 2012 in London and 2006 European Champion. Twice vice World champion in 2010 and 2011, bronze in 2013. Now he is back as a national coach aged 42. He's been working regionally in Westphalia for years with lots of talent.

Another Olympic medallist from Germany is heavyweight Johanna Hagn (49) was 1993 World Champion and 1996 Olympic bronze medallist. She won the European title in 1997 in Oostende and won three medals in total. Hagn won the Tournoi de Paris in 1996.

Karina Bryant (43) is 2012 Olympic bronze medallist who won 7 World Championships medals, 5 finals and four European titles from 1998-2005. Won the Junior world title in 1996 and 1998 in Porto and Cali. In 2003 Karina was voted European judo player of the year. She cherishes the European title of 2003.

Megumi Tachimoto (33) is a five time World Championships medallist. She was in the final of the World Championships in Astana. The heavyweight captured another four bronze medals at the worlds in Paris, Tokyo, Rio and Chelyabinsk. She claimed 13 gold medal in the IJF World Judo Tour including four victories at the Grand Slam in Paris which says enough about her power and dominance. Also she was able ton win the Grand Slam in Tokyo three times. She became World Champion with the Japanese team three times in 2012, 2013 and 2015. We saw her first international steps in 2007 at the Belgian Open.

Naranjargal Tsend-Ayush (30) won the Grand Prix in Ulaanbaatar in 2014 and 2016. She won multiple medals at Asian Championships and a medal at World Junior Championships. She won silver at the European Open in Warsaw in 2016. She won silver at the Grand Prix in Ulaanbaatar in 2016.

German judoka Anna Von Harnier (41), now Anna Victoria was 2003 World bronze medallist and fifth in 2005 and 2007 U63kg. She competed at the Olympic Games of Athens and Beijing and she won European bronze in 2007 in Belgrade. Von Harnier was German champion in 2002. She won five World Cups. As cadet she was winner at the Youth Olympic Days in 1997. She's been working internationally for the Embassy and the European Commission and she is socially very involved especially with the Afghan cause..
