World junior champion Tomoko Fukumi won a close decision after a fierce battle against Kayo Kitada in the final of the 48-kilogram weight division to capture her first title at the Fukuoka International Women's Judo Tournament on Sunday. Fukumi and Kitada, who was seeking her third title in the annual meet, sparred off with both judoka holding their ground throughout regulation, forcing the match into overtime at Fukuoka Kokusai Center.
