Athletes from all over the world are shocked by the sudden death of 2005 World Champion Craig Fallon, the last Briton who became World Champion. It triggered many reactions from the world of judo including some of the current British team whether they trained with him or not, Craig made a great impression.

This man was A legend in Judo, condolences to his family!

Danny Williams:

Craig Fallon was the rarest of champions; an unbelievable talent, tiny ego and huge heart. Truly a brilliant Judoka and even better human being. It was an absolute honour and privilege to know him, learn from him and call him friend. He’ll be so greatly missed by all. X

Sally Conway:

Heartbreaking & devastating news!

So lucky to have known Craig. Amazing guy and an unbelievable Judo player.

All my love & thoughts are with all Craig’s Family & Friends at this very sad time!

Gemma Howell:

You were the reason my dad took me to Wolverhampton judo club and I started Judo. You were an incredible judo player, then coach, and a massive inspiration to so many. You will be very missed. RIP Craig ❤️

Frazer Chamberlain:

Honour to have known you Craig. The best to have stepped on a mat with a British Flag on his chest in my eyes. A true Judo legend! Rest in Peace.

IJF President Marius Vizer

This is a truly tragic loss for our sport. I had a nice chat with a colleague about Craig's new role with Wales on Monday & this is deeply saddening. On behalf of the IJF, I send our condolences to Craig's family & offer our support at this time.
