The second male final of the day opposed the two French athletes Loic Korval (FRA) and David Larose (FRA). After one minute and a half, each of them had one penalty. Less active than Korval, Larose was penalised a second time after three minutes. One penalty for each later, the gold medal seemed to be the property of Korval, when Larose launched a last desperate uchi-mata for waza-ari.
