The first male final U60kg saw Beslan Mudranov (RUS) and Yeldos Smetov (KAZ) fight for the honour at the Grand Prix in Samsun. After two minutes the score was tight, with one shido on both sides of the scoreboard. Mudranov opened the score with a counter attack for waza-ari and then a yuko again with an other counter-movement before concluding the match with a o-uchi-gari for ippon.

There was no surprise in the first half of the draw, as top seeded athlete of today’s category, Yeldos SMETOV (KAZ), successively defeated Pavel PETRIKOV (CZE), Denys BILICHENKO (UKR), Ganbold MUNKHTUR (MGL) and Ilgar MUSHKIYEV (AZE) to enter the final. In the second half of the draw, Ludwig PAISCHER (AUT), believed that today was again his day. After good preliminary rounds, he was opposed the Russian, Beslan MUDRANOV (RUS), in the semifinal. But that was too much for him and less than 20 seconds were necessary to the MUDRANOV to win the fight by ippon.
