In judo you need the ultimate creativity to earn a few bucks. So getting the opportunity to play a role in a TV commercial is a no brainer for most of the athletes. Let’s face it, we’re not all like Teddy Riner. The twin sisters Stoll are obviously a remarkable couple in judo. Both were asked to represent the German Bank in a TV commercial of 30 seconds, alongside a few videos about their life and road to Tokyo. Only one can go.

In the new bank campaign about a fixed interest both Stoll sisters unite in sporting rivalry - that's part of the story told by Deutsche Bank's new campaign. The other part can be described as partnership, or shared goals. Both athletes have been selected upon their profile

Both study, Amelie Sport, Theresa Medicine. Both are active in the social networks and loyal customers of the bank. Amelie and Theresa Stoll have been Judokas since the age of eight. The 23-year-olds compete in the weight class U57kg. Amelie is European Champion U23, Theresa is Vice European Champion. The sisters are also European Champions in the Mixed Team. Both have the goal to start at the Olympic Games next year in Tokyo. Their home club is the TSV Großhadern.

Theresa joined the German “Sporthilfe” funding program in 2012 and has been awarded the Deutsche Bank Sport Scholarship since October 2016. Her sister Amelie has been receiving support from Sporthilfe since 2013, and has been receiving the Deutsche Bank Sport Scholarship since August 2018.

In addition to the Stoll twins, about 30 German athletes will also be telling their story and the positive contribution of partnerships in small films and snippets in social media. Deutsche Bank has been a partner of the funding program since 2001 and one of five national sponsors since 2008.

With this commitment, the financial service provider wants to help junior and top athletes to combine competitive sports with work. This includes a scholarship of 400 euros per month, which the bank has been offering to all sports aid students since 2012, currently for up to 400 people. The measures also include a mentoring program and start-up workshops.

JudoInside TIP: Use the camera at any event. Smile, wink and be in touch with those who can support you. Be present in social media, be creative and behave according to the judo lifestyle rules.
