Goki Maruyama takes gold at Taipei Open

Japan and Korea divided the medals at the second day of the Taipei Open. Japan won four categories, Korea three. Strong men Goki Maruyama won the category U81kg in an all Japanese final against Yuki Haruyama. Three years after his All japan titel Maruyama takes gold again.

Maruyama won the World Junior title in 2011 in Cape Town and the European Open in Rome in 2015 and took bronze at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2015. He was in the final of the Grand Prix Qingdao in 2015. Almost a year later he booked this victory in Taipei. The category U81kg was one of the best seeded division with (just) 13 competitors.

Hirotaka Tanaka won the heavyweight division against Korean Shin. The Korean men struck back and won the categories U90 and U100kg by Kim Kyung-Mo and Won Jong-Hoon. Won prolonged his title of 2015.

Also in the women categories Japan won two gold medals. First place U70kg for Naeka Maeda and heavyweight gold for Miku Eboshi. U78kg there was gold for Lee Dabin against Kaho Nishida.  Lee Dabin was the youngest winner of the weekend with her 20 years.
