Joao Pina retires, from judoka to coach

Double European Champion Joao Pina will retire from judo at 14 June at the national team championships in Portugal. He will become national Cadet coach.

The Portuguese Judo Federation recently presented the new reinforcements - Joao Pina and Marco Morais join to Michel and John Almeida Neto , forming a team of coaches of National teams Judo.
 

In the presentation of the Technical Team of the press conference, the President of FPJ - Mr. Manuel Costa and Oliveira stressed the importance of having these coaches near the young practicing Judo, referring to his huge competitive quality and experience that can offer new helmsmen judoka. 
 

Joao Pina was the big -surprise- of late, presented as new Cadet coach, the athlete announced his final career as a judoka, leaving the tatami after next national competition for team. Since the closing of a cycle that lasted 16 years in the highest competition, Joao Pina faces another challenge as a coach.
