Since July 2015 Kosovo judo star Majlinda Kelmendi is back at her number one position at the IJF World Ranking. After winning the IJF Grand Prix in Budapest this weekend, Kelmendi passed Andreea Chitu (ROU). In Rio de Janeiro Chitu will be seeded first as the seeding is based upon the ranking after the last qualification tournament at the IJF Masters in Guadalajara.

Two-time world champion Majlinda Kelmendi faced her lead training partner Distria Krasniqi in the final U52kg in Budapest. Krasniqi jumped to place 19, coming from 22 last week. Kelmendi and Krasniqi, who live on the same street, shared a special moment on the mat as they showed their mutual respect and friendship knowing that neither of them would be where they are today.

In the other categories the top 5 didn't change much. U90kg Budapest winner Krisztian Toth gained one place, switching with Liparteliani to rank 3. U100kg Karl Richard Frey went from 5 to 4 despite his fifth place. U57kg bronze winner Marti Malloy is now third, from 5 last week.

Budapest winner Adrian Gomboc (SLO) gained 17 palces to 16 U66kg. His teammate Rok Draksic from 18 to 13. Ivan Nifontov closes in to the top 10, now at 11 U81kg. Dutchman Michael Korrel from 20 to 12. Ukrainian Bondarenko from 47 to 30 this week. The Japanese winners: Aoki Dai from 281 to 57 U60kg, Endo Hiromi from 101 to 38 U48kg, Tamaoki Momo from 40 to 28 U57kg and Nabekura Nami is new at place 51 at her debut. Another teen winner, Elvismar Rodriguez of Venezuela is now at place 21 U70kg. Kayla Harrison (USA) still undisputed at 1. Germany's heavyweight Carolin Weiss from 23 to 17 this week.
