The final of the women’s U70kg category was won by Marie Eve Gahie, although in the regular time the score between Gahie and Tsend Ayush Naranjargal was equal. Both one penalty and a yuko, but 10 seconds for the end Tsend Ayush had to give up after Gahie threw her, not resulting in a score but Tsend Ayush had to give up.

Gahie had some good victories today against Gercsak and  Klys and proves she is a woman for the future. She won her first gold medal at a Grand Prix and won two gold editions at the African Open in Tunis. This brings her one stage higher in her career.

What a lively match with lots of scores from Maria Perez. The Puerto Rican sensation collected her fourth bronze medal at world level and seems to position as an outsider for a strange day in Rio, who knows. Today in Almaty she defeated Zhao Chao of China after three good points in three minutes times. One minute for the end she finished the match with another wazari after a barai against Chao. A well deserved medal for Puerto Rico, another strong woman from the Pan American continent in this category.

The second bronze was for Katarzyna Klys of Poland who made one yuko against Onix Cortes of Cuba. After 30 seconds she launched a right sided Morote seoi nage which was enough for the bronze victory. Her husband Arthur Klys waited on the side of the tatami as always to congratulate her for another good medal. Despite all Polish sucessces, Klys remains the biggest chance for a Polish Olympic medal.
