Georgia superior at Cadet European Cup Antalya

The Georgian cadet team U18 was superior at the European Cup for Cadets in Antalya. At the third European Cup this season, the youngsters of Georgia captured 6 gold medals, three by the men on the last day and three by the Georgian girls.
The only men’s category were Georgia didn’t win was U81kg where Ekubzhon Nazirov won gold by defeating his Georgian opponent. U73kg there was a clean sweep by the Georgian, four men on the podium, Nazirov prevented the same U81kg.
The Georgian girls were also dominant with three gold medals, but not so many medals as in the men’s division. Israelian Gili Sharar secured gold U63kg in the only final were host nation Turkey had a representative. Minel Akdeniz won silver. Turkey won 18 medals in total, but the 24 by Georgia were superior. Azerbaijan finished second with 4 titles on Saturday.
Over the three events so far in the season Azerbaijan won 9 titles, Italy 7, Hungary and Georgia follow with 6. Next week the tour moves to Zagreb.

Romanian youngster Lucian Bors Dumitrescu captured the gold medal in his category U66kg this weekend at the Junior European Cup in Cluj Napoca in his own country. Bors Dumitrescu belongs to those talents this season that claimed three gold medals. He is most dominant athlete in his weight class in the IJF World Tour in 2019. Read more
For the third consecutive Grand Prix this year Canadian Jessica Klimkait pocketed a medal. Bronze in Hohhot, silver on home ground in Canada and the gold medal in Zagreb, her first Grand Prix gold among her twelve World Tour medals. In the final Klimkait Momo Tamaoki of Japan who was disqualified due to a forbidden and risky throw on the wrist of Klimkait. Read more
Another five different countries winning the title at the second day of the Junior European Championships in Sofia. However overall Italy, France and the Ukraine secured a second gold medal. Highlight though was an all Georgian final U81kg. Read more
After the two days of the individual tournament of the Cadet European Championships in the Finnish city Vantaa, Russia won four gold medals. There were two titles for France, Serbia, Azerbaijan and the Ukraine and a few countries had some extraordinary performances such as gold for Spain and Latvia. Read more
