Yosvane Despaigne won the FISU Universiade Beijing (Student World Championships) in 2001. Won the Pan American title and 10 international world cups and over twenty world cup medals. Multiple judo champion of Cuba and three times Olympic participant. Brother of Oreidis Despaigne. He triumphed at the German Open World Masters in 2001.
