Yoo Sung-Yeon is the 1999 World bronze medallist in Birmingham He won the Asian Games in 1998 in Bangkok U90kg. His judo club was Korea Race Horse Association. Yoo won a bronze medal at the Grand Prix Qingdao in 2009 in the weight category U90kg. After failing to qualify in two previous attempts for the '92 Barcelona Olympics and the '96 Atlanta Olympics, the "Unlucky Star" Yoon Dong Sik (28 - Korea Racing Association) once again failed to qualify in his third try for the Olympic Team after losing to Yoo in the finals.
