Judoka Mbagnick Ndiaye of Senegal carried the flag for Senegal at the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Lost his first round bout to later bronze medallist Bashaev. He triumphed at the 2019 African Games in Rabat. He is three-time African Champion (2019, 2020, 2023) and African Games winner and he collected twelve medals at African Championships/Games. He took bronze medal at the 2022 Grand Prix of Portugal. Mbagnick Collected a gold medal at 14 African Open events (2017-2024).
