Judoka Damiano Martinuzzi finished with a silver medal at the Slovenian Open Celje B-tournament in 2006. he took a silver medal at the Belgian Championships in Charleroi in 1984 and bronze in 1983 in Aalst. As a coach he was part of the Francophone Belgian Judo Federation (FFBJ 2010-2018) coaching team, with whom he took part in two editions of the Olympic Games (London 2012 and Rio 2016). In January 2019, Damiano Martinuzzi joined the Flemish Judo Federation (Judo Vlaanderen) as head coach of the elite group and took part in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. In 2023 he moved to Paris SG Judo.
